Incarceranimation Files

In between 2000 and 2005 I developed and implemented an art program for incarcerated youth at the Nassau County Correctional Center on Long Island in New York State's Nassau County. The program is carefully described in the following article:

“A Digital Visual Culture Course for Incarcerated Youth,” in Sweeny, Robert (2009). Digital Visual Culture: Intersections and Interactions in 21st Century Art Education. NAEA, (National Art Education Association – still in press). The NAEA supports a blog for Digital Visual Culture.

The computer multimedia program generated portfolios of animations, demonstrations and "beats," some of which are accessible here.
